VII.9.19 Pompeii. September 2005. North entrance to Macellum on Via degli Augustali, looking south.  
According to Mau, somewhere amongst these shops and stalls to the north of the macellum, various charred foodstuffs were found.
Charred figs, chestnuts, fruits in glass vessels, plums, grapes, lentils, grain, loaves of bread and cakes were excavated.

Two cupids and two psyches are seated at a table making garlands.
To the left stand a cupid holding garlands and a psyche.
On the right a psyche bends over a bench on which is a basket full of blooms.

Two cupids and two psyches are seated at a table making garlands.

To the left stand a cupid holding garlands and a psyche.

On the right a psyche bends over a bench on which is a basket full of blooms.

Two pairs of cupids are seated in front of this.
In the centre is a round tray with two beakers on it.
To the left a cupid appears to be putting a garland round the neck of a mule.
Another mule is on the right of the picture to the right of which a cupid and a psyche are standing.
